~Welcome to our first Monthly Newsletter~
The end of the chilly October air gives way to an even colder November morning!
Good Morning and salutations to all of you beautiful people. It is time for our first monthly newsletter. It will hold goals for the month, goals achieved in the last month, projects lined up and further ramblings.
Before we begin; a question!
Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? If so... what's your favourite part of the meal? (if you don't, whats your favorite foods listed)
Turkey
Ham
Potatoes
Stuffing
The end of the year always seems to go by so quickly, don't you think so? Or perhaps it was just this year? It feels like it should still only be April... but my birthday went by in a flash, Halloween just came and went. Now it's almost already Christmas?! It doesn't help that so many chaotic things seem to be happening at the end. What with wars going on, the election, and any personal goals or tribulations going on within one another. A lot of personal changes and ideas have been circulating inside me. I feel more than anything, ready to tackle what lies beyond December 31st (Jan 1st huhuhu) I feel like 2025 is a year for art. In the next 2 years, I will be preparing myself to move overseas. So I must truly prepare myself for what lies ahead. I feel like I'm in a comfortable place personally, though I still have many things to work on, very little of it is now emotional and mental. But now more career-based and what I can now physically do.
BRING IT ON 2025!
Last Months Accomplishments:
I completed the first really big commission in a long while as a Christmas gift.
I have levelled up in terms of Crochet and have completed 2/4 parts of my mom's Christmas gift.
I have discovered the aesthetic that I ended up putting together myself from pre-existing aesthetics.
I have helped my sister find her creative hobby.
I changed my overlay aesthetic and Social Media aesthetics based on my new aesthetic. I believe it fits who I am- I believe I finally found my look.
I am now 2 years out from graduation. Beginning my upper-division classes. Changing major to solely Illustration.
Slowly I have begun designing creatures and armor. Finally utilizing my sketchbooks properly.. though slowly.
I'm discovering my art style. Or at least what I want it to be, following tutorials and trying to learn how to do it properly. Discovering what I enjoy making and what I want my themes to be (along with aesthetics)
I've begun properly training myself to draw anatomy.
Began my fantasy watercolour journal.
Begun drawing more, sketching more, and trying to find way more time to draw because it's necessary to do and necessary to practice.
Finally, remember why I fell in love with drawing to begin with. WANTING to truly dive back in. Though slowly.
Began my Redraw series
I have done pretty well with my goals this month. I had gotten a decent amount done, especially with commissions and exploring who I am through my art. More than anything this month- this year- these past 6 years- have been a journey of self-discovery, even if it's slow it's better than nothing. Never rush progress, never force change but discover at my own pace. Just like what my name entails. I have never been happier, and I'm excited to take this change and mindset into my art. That is what I hope next month- next year- to be.
This Months Goals:
To finish a YouTube video; summer video.
Continue the Redraw series to prepare the Redraw YouTube video.
Brainstorm more YouTube videos.
Brainstorm future content, how I want to present myself and what I want to cater to. As well as my demographic.
Finish all Christmas gifts.
Begin more sketches, practice more anatomy
Prepare for the next semester.
Focus art on designs/concept art in a more painterly style.
Wind down for the year, and take time to prepare a game plan for the whole of next year.
Main Projects:
The Redraw Series (redrawing 3 of my past art projects into current day)
School projects; logos, silhouettes, designs, etc
Personal aesthetic design and social media presentation.
Redesign a logo for myself?
Finish all Crochet projects.
Continue working on flower painting.
More than anything, I just want to unwind my mind, do what I can the rest of this year. Focus on the positives, despite all the negatives nearing the end. Prepare for next year. Something about next year feels right... something about next year feels like THE year. I hope I don't jinx myself when I say that. But I have a good feeling about 2025. I will be graduating in 2026, and moving in 2027- that is as long as all the plans line up.
At the end of the year, I will be making an Annual post on what I hope for the coming year and what I'm proud of from the last year.
Beyond that, for the rest of this year. I will be continuing to do some mental contemplating like I have many a past year.
Good luck everyone!
~And Happy Thanks Giving~
~Wani~
